What to Do When Your Vape Leaks

Dealing with vape leaks? Learn the common causes of leaky vapes and the best ways to fix and prevent the mess.

A leaking vape can be frustrating, messy, and wasteful—especially if it ends up on your hands, clothes, or inside your bag. But the good news is that most leaks can be fixed or even avoided once you know what’s causing them.

First, check your vape for damage or loose parts. If you’re using a refillable tank or pod system, make sure all connections are tight—especially the coil, tank base, and mouthpiece. Over time, wear and tear or improper refilling can loosen seals, allowing e-liquid to escape.

Next, look at how you’re filling the device. Overfilling your tank or squeezing juice into the wrong hole can cause leaks. Be sure you’re not adding more liquid than the tank can hold, and avoid filling into the center airflow tube—that's meant for airflow, not e-liquid.

If you’re using a disposable vape and it’s leaking, there’s not much you can do to fix the device itself. However, you can try storing it upright to minimize further leaking. Disposable vapes can leak if they’ve been in high heat (like a car or pocket), dropped, or used too forcefully.

Vaping habits can also play a role. Taking long, hard pulls can flood the coil, causing liquid to seep out. Instead, try gentler inhales and let the device wick between puffs. Also, avoid leaving your vape in hot places—heat thins the e-liquid, which makes it easier for it to escape through seals or airflow holes.

If you’ve cleaned everything, adjusted your habits, and the leaking continues, it may be time to replace a worn-out coil or switch to a different device. Some vape tanks and pods just aren’t built well, and constant leaks are a sign it’s not worth the hassle.

At K Town Vapor, we can help match you with a high-quality setup that’s built to last—with fewer leaks and better performance every time.
